Episodes repurposes video game assets to stage a choreographed performance, featuring a stripped-down 3D avatar — a generic female puppet used in amateur games — undergoing enigmatic initiation rituals within a confined digital environment.
By centering on this archetypal figure, Episodes interrogates the representation of women in video games and the digital bodies we create and inhabit. Ritualistic performances by identical clones invite viewers to explore identity, transformation, sexuality, gender, and self-perception. Intentional glitches heighten the eerie atmosphere, disrupting the expectation of polished CG aesthetics. These fractures expose digital reality’s artificiality, revealing its fragility and generating unsettling, reality-warping effects.
