 LULLABY

Las Vegas, the Entertainment Capital of the World, is a city that never stops—its pulse driven by high-tech surveillance, luxury, and the relentless pursuit of pleasure. Even in the face of tragedies like the 2017 mass shooting or nuclear testing in the 1950s, the city has always endured. Yet, the unprecedented Covid-19 shutdown in 2020 marked its first true pause.

Lullaby is a slow, metaphorical journey without a clear beginning or end, evoking displacement, anxiety, and uncertainty in times of crisis. Its AI-generated soundscape features voices struggling to learn and failing to speak, stuttering in ways that mirror systemic breakdowns and the threats of the unknown. Through this lens, the work examines what crises reveal about humanity and the fragile state of our future.

SOUND:
· AI-generated text-to-speech samples and speech synthesis.
· EMIC Waves – low-frequency electromagnetic waves recorded by robotic spacecraft studying Earth's radiation belts.(Originating from a liminal, unstable space, they mirror the uncertainty of crisis and serve as a metaphor for unseen forces shaping our world.)
